Emails
The unsubscribe link is added by the platform from the Communication page: never type one into a template. Spam is decided by the receiving mailbox; the sending service confirms delivery. A campaign that sent nothing was built on an audience that matched nobody, or on members without email consent. For the rules of good delivery, read Email deliverability essentials.
Check first
- Settings, Communication: the unsubscribe text is set there. Every email gets it appended.
- The template: no hand-typed unsubscribe link in it.
- The audience: how many members match it, and how many of them have email consent on.
- The member: consent on, email verified, and the message looked for in spam and promotions folders.
Causes and fixes
No unsubscribe link in the email
The sending service requires an unsubscribe link, so the platform appends the one configured under Settings, Communication, to every email. A link typed by hand into the template replaces it, and a club that never configured one sends emails with no link at all. Configure it once, in every language the club uses, and remove any hand-typed link from the templates.
Verification codes land in spam
The sending service reported the messages delivered; the "spam" label was added by the member's mailbox. Two things help: the member marks the sender as safe, and the club keeps its campaigns to members who actually open them. One campaign to a very large, mostly inactive list raised the complaint rate and hurt the domain's reputation for weeks.
The campaign sent nothing
- The audience was built with member identifiers from a previous system, so no member matched. Rebuild it with the platform's own fields; email is the only reliable link between two systems.
- Members without email consent are skipped on purpose.
- A campaign paused during maintenance stays paused until resumed.
The campaign is slow
Emails leave at about 100 every 6 seconds. A campaign to 100,000 members takes about an hour and forty minutes; that is normal.
When to write to your provider
Write when a specific member with consent and a verified address never receives anything, with their email and the time of the send. For a campaign, send its name and the audience count you expected. Write within the week: sending logs are kept 7 days. See How to ask for help.
