No permissions, or a page you cannot see
A "no permissions" notice is almost never a fault. It is the plan (what the club has bought), the role (what your login may do), or a page closed during a rollout. Read which one applies, and ask your provider for the change rather than for a fix.
The plan
What a club can create depends on its plan. Seen in clubs in the last year:
- The smaller plans edit, they do not create. A club on a basic or intermediate plan can edit the gifts and campaigns it was delivered with, but cannot create new ones from the screen; the provider creates them on request. The notice when you try reads "no permissions".
- Automations and campaigns beyond the included ones need the top plan. A club that "has Pro" but cannot save a campaign is usually on the intermediate plan; the plan name shows in the club's settings.
- A punch card together with accrual needs the top plan. A form that asks for both on a smaller plan goes back to the distributor to choose one of the two.
- Add-ons such as Smart Segmentation are switched on by the provider; their pages say so with "ask your provider".
The role
- Import members is available to provider and distributor logins, not to client logins by default; your provider can open it for one client on request.
- Users and permissions of a club are set by the provider: a user that cannot see a module lacks its "view" right, and a module without "view" disappears from the menu altogether, even when "edit" is granted.
- A new user asked for at sign-up has to exist: a login that was never created cannot "lack permissions".
Protected fields and pages
Some fields are protected because changing them breaks something that is hard to repair:
- The club URL in General settings: changing it breaks the app's address and the privacy link.
- The Wallet Pass Settings tab: the identifiers tie every installed pass to the club; see Wallet Pass.
If you can edit such a field and should not, say so; if you changed one, say it at once.
Pages closed during a rollout
During a design rollout the app editor can show as read-only, or a section can be missing from the menu for every user, until the club has been published with the new template. It is the rollout, not your login; the page opens again when the club is published. Ask your provider whether a rollout is running before treating it as a permission problem.
When to write to your provider
Write with the club, the login that tried, the screen (a screenshot of the notice), and what the club wants to do. If it is the plan, the answer is the plan; if it is the role, the provider adjusts it. See How to ask for help.
